A few things....

I love, love, love her monkey toes!

She is all business, this girl knows how to look serious.

She has already mastered the Uncle Rico/ John Glenn Parrish III look.

Sadie is cute even when she yawns.

This is one sweet 4 day old!

Drum Roll Please!!!!

Introducing our sweet little thing

Sadie Meilynn Parrish

I know John filled you in on most of the details, but pics are a million times better, right?

My boys came for a visit that afternoon. They were so excited. I'm pretty sure they collaboratively said "i love you baby" at least 100 times!

Thanks again to our superstar Sister in Law Christie for making the trip out from Chicago to watch our crazy boys these past few days. I'll post more details later...for now I'm going to bed.

Baby Girl in da House

Here are the details:

  • Jamie was induced around 8 am. Baby was born at 11:17 am.
  • Epideral didn't take and the labor was coming fast so Jamie ended up delivering without the aid of anesthetics.
  • 7 lbs. 11 oz and 21 inches long.
  • Mom and Baby are doing great. No surprise that Jamie was amazing during delivery.
  • We haven't settled on a name, but have narrowed it down.

I'm having trouble uploading pics right now. You'll just have to take my word that she is beautiful. Hopefully we'll have a name and pictures for you tomorrow.

Maxer's Birthday Bash

What do you do when you tell your husband that we are having a birthday party for his son the Saturday before his birthday and he takes that to mean that he is somehow now allowed to go on a business trip on his "real birthday?" Then he has the audacity or what I like to refer to as balls to tell his wife that the cake she made with her son, not to mention her blood sweat and tears doesn't quite look like the one in the picture she was trying to imitate?

This:

Ok, so the picture isn't the best, but we gave all the kids water balloons to throw at John for his devilish behavior. It was also 50 degrees and extremely windy!!

Muah - ha - ha.

Despite some minor setbacks like John and his mental impairments and the out of control wind, Max had an awesome birthday party. (not to be confused with his birthday aka day of his birth - May 20th)

Here is the Ferris wheel cake and the boys:

Notice the number on the cake?? Yep, my little monster is now 5 years old! He is slightly confused because he now thinks he is done with pre-school and headed to kindergarten tomorrow. That's what you do when you are 5 right?

I bet when I finally straighten things out with the whole "no Max, you are not going to kindergarten" mess he will be getting a few phone calls from his grandma's wishing him a happy birthday (on his real b-day) to confuse him all over again. This should be a fun week!

MAY the FOURTH be with you!

I'm usually a fly by the seat of my pants kind of girl, moment to moment, that's me. With Jackson around, this is a hard thing to do. With him, comes daily rituals. One of them involves my yahoo and checking the weather every morning before school.(to make sure no hurricanes are forcasted of course) Today while we were involved in this daily task, I noticed that today is officially Star Wars Day! Well who can argue with that? Because it was in fact official, we did what any other star wars fans would do....CELEBRATE!! After school, we busted out the good ole faithful Wookie Cook Book and glanced through the recipes. Let me tell you the options were many and we had a hard time choosing what to make. Would it be Dark Side Salsa, Yoda Soda, Han-burgers or Boba Fett-uccine? We decided dessert would be our best bet and went for the Jawa Jive Milkshakes. So to all of you who missed out on Star Wars Day.....May the Force, I mean Fourth be with you next year!

April Happenings

Our little fam has been super busy this month. We've been to 8 states, celebrated Easter, 2 birthdays, built a deck, put up our swing set, bought a trampoline....the list goes on and on. Here are a few pics to show off my birthday boys who turned 7 and 33, and also some of our backyard!!

The boys on John's b-day. With all 33 candles, it looks like a fire hazard. I made an excellent carrot cake if I may say so myself. (its an excuse to binge on cream cheese frosting)

While visiting my sister in Utah, we decided that our boys desperately need a trampoline....or could it be that their Mom needs them to have a trampoline? Either way, we splurged and got one for his birthday.

This pic has no great significance other than Max is looking adorable. He loves to pose for the camera, unfortunately his poses usually look like this:

"Hey mom, take a picture of me cuz I'm dead."

Or this....."take my picture, I look awesome!"

This isn't the best pic to show off our deck, but it's about all I've got. We are so excited to finally have a deck and to be able to get to our backyard without walking through the front yard to get there! With our deck, trampoline, and swing set, we can't wait for summer to start. Now begins May where I will put John to work getting ready for our summer package to arrive!

XXX Library XXX

Libraries....ughhh. Lets just say that I have a long history of disappointing experiences at many a Public Library. Yes, it is a fact that I once lost a Stuart Little DVD and ended up owing over $100 in fines. I found the DVD over a year later while unpacking after our move to Minnesota in a bathroom box....what? Yes, it is also true that we (as in my boys and I) have been kicked out of multiple libraries for excessive noise. If we weren't lucky enough to officially given the boot, I was sure given enough looks of death to make me want to leave. Needless to say, we don't frequent the library often. As a lot of you know, both my boys have grown up and improved on all the things that make them who they are in the last year. So contemplating on how far they have come, I decided on a whim to take a trip to the Maple Grove Library. I'm happy to say that for the first time my boys didn't have any major issues. No, this time the Library is the one that had a problem. As we were perusing the adult non-fiction for some good Star Wars reads we walked by a nasty man on a public computer. He was on youtube about to watch "hot sexy teen girls getting frisky." I herded my boys away as fast I could and didn't end up seeing the actual video. I went up to the help desk to ask what their policy was on that kind of nasty crap. So if you live in Maple Grove listen up: there is nothing they can do about "pornographic text" and because I didn't actually see the video about to be played, there was nothing the Library could do. So basically I would have had to wait around for the video of girls getting busy and risk my boys seeing something offensive to get this guy kicked out. I guess if I read more books my vocabulary would more extensive, but all I can come up with is this is Lame Lame Lame! I guess it's back to scholastic book orders for us!

Lessons Learned

We got back from our 13 day vacation extravaganza on Tuesday night. As I look back on the trip, I decided that I learned quite a bit in the last couple weeks. Lets just say that this vaca was done Grizwald style......

Here are a few things I learned in no particular order:

1. Never let Max outside in high altitudes while the sun is shining or his poor little nose will blister!

2. John is capable of making the UGLIEST FACE KNOWN TO MAN if given a sour warhead. My bellybutton is so enormous that you can see it through my shirt...gross!

3. There are apparently people not as excited as I am to go to Nielson's Frozen Custard the minute it opens. (at 10:30 am) This one I will never understand, who should have to drag their kids to get custard, what kind of a world am I raising my kids in nowadays?

4. Temple reflection pools have to be cooled down too even though no one swims in them. We didn't get to see the reflection due to the "cooling system", but the boys were down for a pose or two.

5. I forgot how much I love the scenery and red rocks or good ole AZ. I need to get back to the Canyon!!

6. How picky Max really is. While all the cousins shoveled candy into their baskets, Max is happy to pick through piece by piece to find the two or three pieces he would like....he' so funny like that!

7. My kids no longer require a babysitter, all I need to do is buy another Nintendo DS and call it good.

8. After a long trip, nothing is better than sleeping in your own bed!!

I learned many other things that I sadly don't have pics for such as what my Mother in Law looks like naked and how cranky a 7 month prego can get on a 24 hour car ride, but I think those are better mental images anyways!

MMMMM New carpet smell!!!

This morning I had my living room carpet replaced compliments of KHOV. They should make this smell into a candle if you ask me, it's so yummy! I'm going to enjoy the sent down to its last wiff. It smells almost as good as my dessert tasted last night. Thanks ladies...especially Camie!
