Because I don't know what do do with a little calm

Thursday found Sadie and I at the pediatrician. In the waiting room I saw a few tiny little newborns that melted my heart and made me want another baby. (we all know this in not going to happen!!) So......

Later that afternoon I decided that Max needed a puppy for his birthday. I figured it would be a win/win. Max loves animals, and I apparently needed someone else to pick up after and wake up with at night to be fulfilled. So after scouring the inter web I came across this little gem:

This is where I have to admit that I was a little naughty. Bad Jamie, Bad. I drove over and put a deposit down on the dog without consulting John. Oops. So much for the whole master thing working out for him. But honestly, who could say no to this little guy?

Check out Sadie and how excited she was to see this little puppy! She smiles like this on occasion, but I haven't been able to document it. Seriously, how cute it that smile?

Jackson was happy to get a dog, but quick to ask if it was only Max's dog or a family dog. He was thrilled to know it's for the family, not just Max. (I'm going to need more than one helper to pick up poop from the yard!)

John decided that since I picked out the dog, he should get to choose the name of this cute little Yorkie. Check out this video of the kids meeting Gator for the first time-

Spring Time Happenings

We've been busy around here at the Parrish house, and as a result I've slacked on my blogging. Here's a little glimpse into what we've been up to.

In April John went to Helsinki, Finland and Berlin Germany as part of his MBA program. *lucky*
He tried to pull the ole' I missed you and it wasn't any fun. Blah Blah Blah. We all know he had a blast.

One Sunday the boys and I messed around on my new sewing machine. Jackson wanted to make a solar system t-shirt. Max opted for a simple M for Max t.

Now that we've been playing outside a lot more, Sadie has been passing out on the couch every now and then. It's the sweetest thing to see her laying there all hot and sweaty!
On our way to drop off John's parents at the airport on Monday, we stopped by Minnihaha Falls. The falls were flowing higher and faster than I've ever seen and the weather was perfect.

Here is Sadie all dolled up for Easter Sunday. Sorry boys, you looked cute but I forgot to snap shots of you. oops.

Easter morning after our annual basement Easter egg hunt. It didn't take Sadie long to figure out what was going on and ended up with almost as much loot as the boys.
I love spring here in Minnesota. The weather is the best, there are garage sales left and right, and I can see an end to my white pasty skin!

Master P

Almost two years ago, John started on a quest.....he wanted to be referred to as Master P. Every once in a while he would remind me that he was working so hard not for his MBA, but so that when he asked me a question I would respond "yes, master." There is only one problem....he forgot who he married. Do you think I am ever going to call anyone my Master? Nice try....all that hard work for nothing. Well I guess he did get his MBA, that has to count for something right?

All kidding aside, I am proud of him for all of his hard work. I am also so very very happy for this chapter in our lives to be closed. It's time to hand over that honey-do list that has been put on hold for a while!

John's parents were able to make a whirlwind trip out to show their love and support.

Congrats John!!!
